Welcome to San Diego and the ATS 2024 International Conference!

T he conference attracts in vestigators, educators, and clinicians and is truly the destination for adult and pediatric pulmonary, crit ical care, and sleep medicine profes sionals at every level of their careers. You won’t want to miss the opportu nities to learn, network, and connect, including the Networking Super Center and International Participants Center. The ATS International Conference draws a large, diverse group of partic ipants, representing many disciplines and continents. We are a dedicated and collegial community helping the world to breathe. By virtue of its size — ATS 2024 will feature more than 6,500 original research projects and case reports, 400-plus sessions, and over 1,000 speakers — participants can attend sessions and special events from ear ly morning to the evening. At ATS 2024 there will be something for everyone. Don’t miss the following import ant events: • Saturday’s Opening Ceremony featuring a keynote presen tation by William Flanary, MD — aka Dr. Glaucomflecken. Dr. Flanary is an ophthalmologist and comedian. He moonlights as “Dr. Glaucomflecken,” a social media personality who creates medical-themed comedy shorts for more than 5 million social media followers.

• Celebrate the 20 th anniversary of The ATS Research Program at the Benefit on Saturday evening where you can reconnect with old friends and make new ones. • The Keynote Series Sunday through Tuesday mornings features incredible talks on AI in medicine, the history of the ICU, and immigrant health care. • Respiratory Health Awards including the Trudeau Medal, Distinguished Achievement Awards, and Amberson Lecture. • ATS Plenary Session, which will feature a discussion of orang utans and respiratory disease. • Assembly Membership Meetings and Networking Super Center , which are open to all attendees and allow for interacting with your peers with similar interests. • In the Exhibit Hall starting on Sunday, May 19, exhibitors will showcase new products and services for clinicians with specialties in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. • The Diversity Forum focuses on diversity within the fields of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine and research. These events create a sense of community among the International Conference attendees, which is precisely what our founders hoped
