General Information TRANSPORTATION Washington, DC is home to some of the most stubborn traffic in the United States. Driving can be challenging, and the parking fees are costly. Taking public transportation, bus, or subway, is safe and inexpensive and the easiest way to move about the city. Details on Metro, ride-sharing and taxi cabs are below. Metro: The best way to get around the city is the DC Metro. The trains and stations are clean and safe; you purchase farecards before you go down to the platform. Visit https:// www.wmata.com/ to plan your trip. DC Circulator : The bus fare is $1 a trip (or 50 cents if you’re a senior). The DC Circulator can also help you connect to Metro stations for a more flexible transportation solution. The DC Circulator comes about every 10 minutes. Capital Bikeshare : Capital Bikeshare is DC’s bikeshare service, with 5,000 bikes and over 600 stations. Designed for quick trips with convenience in mind, it’s a fun and affordable way to get around the city. Visit https://capitalbikeshare.com/ for pricing. FIRST AID ATS Hotels: Contact the hotel’s front desk for any emergencies. Walter E. Washington Convention Center: A first aid station will be staffed in two locations: • Exhibit Floor, Hall A (Lower Level) Thursday, May 18 to Wednesday, May 24 • Hall D (Level 2) Sunday, May 21 to Tuesday, May 23 CHILD CARE FACILITIES Visit www.care.com or www.sittercity.com to search for trusted local care in the area. You can use your hotel address to search via zip code. The convention center is located at 801 Mt Vernon Pl NW, Washington, DC 20001. LOST AND FOUND Please be aware of your personal items at all times. The ATS is not liable for personal items lost during the Conference. There will be a lost and found maintained in the ATS International Conference Office in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Room 158A (Street Level). Unclaimed items will be turned over to the Convention Center at the conclusion of the Conference. Items lost or found at any of the Conference hotels should be reported to the specific hotel. BAGGAGE CHECK Temporary baggage check for attendees will be available in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Salons A-C NETWORKING AND COFFEE BREAK AREA Power up with healthy snacks and drinks from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in Coffee & Connections (booths 637, 709, 2209, and 2541). POSTAL AND SHIPPING NEEDS Located in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the Capital Business Center services include copying, computer rental, faxing, and limited shipping services via FedEx, and DHL for small packages. INTERNATIONAL MONEY EXCHANGE Most major banks offer currency exchange services. ICE Currency Exchange is available at the Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Services include currency exchange, money wire, travelers' checks, photocopying and facsimile services, telephone cards, and limited offerings from the U.S. Postal Service. The Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport ICE currency exchange is in the National Hall on the Concourse level of Terminal C, at pre-security.
