PCC2 PEDIATRIC CLINICAL CORE CURRICULUM Education Committee 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Target Audience Clinicians who are engaged in maintenance of certification activities Objectives At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to: • describe diagnosis and management of central and obstructive sleep disorders in infants • identify best practices for management and treatment of pulmonary hypertension in infants • describe best practices and standards of care for management of bronchopulmonary dysplasia in the neonatal intensive care unit and the post NICU period Chairing: J. TimothyCaulfield is aCanadaResearchChair inHealth Lawand Policy, a Professor in the Faculty of Lawand the School of Public Health, andResearchDirector of theHealth Law Institute at theUniversity of Alberta. His interdisciplinary research on topics like stemcells, genetics, research ethics, the public representations of science, and public health policy has allowed him to publish over 350 academic articles. He haswon numerous academic, science communication, andwriting awards, and is a Fellowof theRoyal Society of Canada and theCanadian Academy of Health Sciences. He contributes frequently to the popular press and is the author of two national bestsellers: TheCure for Everything: Untangling the TwistedMessages about Health, Fitness and Happiness (Penguin 2012) and IsGwyneth PaltrowWrong About Everything?:When Celebrity Culture and ScienceClash (Penguin 2015). Hismost recent book is Relax, Dammit!: AUser'sGuide to the Age of Anxiety (PenguinRandomHouse, 2020) (USTitle: Your Day, YourWay). Professor Caulfield is also the co-founder of the science engagement initiative #ScienceUpFirst and the host and co-producer of the award-winning documentary TV show, AUser'sGuide toCheatingDeath, which has been shown in over 60 countries, including streaming onNetflix inNorth America. The Plenary Session alsowill include the ratification of the 2023-2024 slate of officers as well as remarks fromoutgoing president GregDowney, MD, ATSF , and incoming president M.
