Target Audience Researchers, medical trainees, those with an interest in COPD pathogenesis Objectives At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to: • learn about natural history of smokers with respiratory symptoms • learn about biomarkers of COPD • learn about social determinants influence on respiratory outcomes SPIROMICS II is an NHLBI-sponsored study that supports the prospective collection and analysis of phenotypic, biomarker, genetic, genomic, and clinical data from subjects with COPD for the purpose of identifying subpopulations and the biological underpinnings of clinical phenotypes in COPD.
